    The first World Exposition in Germany
    • The International Participants: The imaginative pavilions and exhibits by the guest nations are a high point of the EXPO 2000. About 180 countries and organisations are coming to show their ideas for the future - a world record in the history of the World Expositions. More than 50 countries are building their own pavilions, the remainder are presenting in the exhibition halls.
    • The cultural and events program of the EXPO 2000 is the first major festival in the new century. Culture at the EXPO 2000: That means hundreds of events from spectacular rock concerts to daily cabaret performances, from the nightly festival of light "Flambée" to the 21-hour production of "Faust" by Peter Stein, from youth orchestras from all over the world to contemporary art on the EXPO site.
    • The Thematic Area is an experience landscape with an area of 100,000 square metres divided among five exhibition halls. Here visitors can see, hear, smell and taste the future, and can share in designing it. In a mixture of visions, entertainment and information in eleven individual exhibits, the Thematic Park shows what solutions to tomorrow's global problems might look like.
